Volume 6 is the first issue dedicated to the medium of photography. This collection documents the Sonoran Desert through the eyes of local creators who focus on community and legacy. J. Alexandre presents an unfiltered series on the journey of self and heritage, bringing his personal battle with cancer into the spotlight to explore how a diagnosis transformed his creative perspective. Damian Becerra and Genesis Sublette use the lens to study ancestral history and the raw elemental forces held by our matriarchs. Work from Chucki Begay and Jaz Singer explores the reality of our region through rock and ancestral survival, joined by perspectives from Michael Saling and Kayla King on the queer emotion and cultural ties that keep our community together. Wei Wei, Donovan Strawn, Mia Gomez, Alondra Mora, and Nancy Buelna contribute work that looks at the desert and the people who inhabit it.
