Volume 5 is an ofrenda built by artists who examine death to understand what it means to be alive. Kayla King opens the issue with a study of the painful legacy and remembrance of Frida Kahlo. Pato Aguilar explores the spiritual dialogue between human and divine warriors, while Jevus Vougler contributes watercolor features that look at indigenous history and the Sonoran landscape. This collection includes Celene Arvizu and Livi DarConte, who transform grief into motion and art, alongside Damian Becerra, who brings the tradition of marigolds to life through photography. The edition is completed by the work of Kat Burns, Gem Abarca, Karolina Bravo, Phoenix Marks, Daima Rachél Colón Rivera, Kiana Medrano, Shaun Cochran, Aaron Nosheny, Rachel Espinoza, and J. Alexandre.
